This is how a treatment works
From free intake to aftercare
Your process consists of several contact moments. The steps required depend on your oral situation and the chosen prosthesis. Before each contact we calmly explain what we are going to do.
- Introduction (intake)We discuss your wishes, oral situation, health, expectations and the expected costs. This first intake is free.
- First impression or scanAn initial registration of your mouth forms the basis for the treatment design.
- Final impression or scan*If necessary, we will accurately register your mouth for the final fit.
- Bite registration*If necessary, we will record the position, height and relationship of your jaws.
- Try-in*If necessary, we check the shape, position, bite and appearance together.
- FittingWe place and check the definitive prosthesis and provide clear explanations for use at home.
- AftercareWe guide the adjustment, assess pressure points and adjust if necessary.
* Only when necessary. Not every patient goes through exactly the same steps.
A solution that suits your mouth and daily life
Dentures must not only fit technically, but also with your face, the way you eat and speak and what you like. In our practices in Maastricht and Gulpen we help with complete dentures, partial plate or frame dentures, implant-retained removable dentures, implants, immediate dentures after tooth extraction, repairs and relining or adjusting an existing denture.
We begin by listening and examining carefully
During the introduction we first discuss your complaints, wishes, health and any fears. We then look at what is possible in your mouth. You will receive an explanation of the different solutions, the expected steps, the advantages and disadvantages, the costs and the possible reimbursement. A proposal is always personal; this overview page is not a diagnosis.
A regular process can consist of an intake, first impressions or a digital oral scan, a final impression or additional scan, if necessary a bite assessment and fitting phase, placing the prosthesis and aftercare. Not everyone needs all the steps. We tell you what we are going to do before each contact moment.
Treatment in Maastricht or Gulpen
For dental prosthetic care you can go to both wheelchair-accessible locations. Implantological processes, placing and checking implants and tooth extraction, when carried out within our practice, take place in Gulpen. To achieve this, we work together with the independently working practitioners at Implantcompany. Your dental prosthetic guidance remains with Van Hoften Tandprothetiek.
